The biggest prob, is people are really brainless!! I have a researched probe blueprint, and it costs something like 64,000 in minerals (current market prices) to make 1 probe. I saw one persone was selling 9 of them for 70,000. Someone might say, "Hey, we mined the ore, refined the minerals, made a probe, and we sold it for 70K. So we just made 70K!". WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG....and WRONG!!!!
You didn't just make 70K. Because you haven't taken into account the cost of the Blueprint. I have no idea how much a orginal bp for a probe is, or the cost of a copy, but even if the cost of a copy was 1 mill, most people are losing money, not making it. If it took 64K worth of minerals to make the probe, and you only got back 6K for the blueprint (not to mention the cost of the factory slot). You'd have to make about 167 probes just to break even. Not to mention, you have to mine about 1.58 million trit, plus another 1.5 million in total of other minerals just to make 167 probes (I think it takes 9500 trit to make 1 probe). I don't know how fast some people mine but it sounds like a lot of people are working for free out there.
Even if someone did manage to sell probes for 100K for a while and already managed to pay for thier BP, why are people selling there probes for 70K, for the time it takes to mine and refine the minerals to make a probe and put it on the market, to spend a hour or even a half hour just to make another 6K profit ontop of the value of the mineral on each probe, how can people be that dumb!! If you look at it seriously, they've lost money again, because they could've spent the same amount of time killing pirates or taking agent missions and make 20K or 100K in that hour or half hour. Better to just sell the minerals for 64K, or to stock pile them for some future product (maybe some future tech 2 or 3 lvl product) and to not have bought the probe BP in the first place.
All I can say to all the players in Eve is this is a buyers market. BUY BUY BUY. If people want to sell stuff for less than what you can make it for, then buy it. I've bought 100 probes already, ranging from 65K to 80K. I know that the market wont stay this good for long, and will change. I hope to sell all my probes for 120K each and make 5mill profit in a month or two.
